And the journey begins.

It has only taken thirty plus years osand-768783_1280f focused pondering, but I have finally taken the first step and I am  on the journey to, hopefully, becoming a published writer.

The course materials have arrived and I have had my first contact with my tutor. I am also now a fully fledged member of the National Union of Students (NUS) and looking forward to my first discounts at Pizza and Vision Express and attending another CND march (do they still exist?). The only thing left to do now  is to start planning the next five to seven years of hard work.

Brilliant! I never thought about joining the NUS! Hooray for that little gem of information! Happy writing 🙂

Welcome to the wonderful world of writing, Davy – how have you found the whole distance thing so far? I remember so well how fearful and excited I was when I got the first beautifully wrapped package from OCA and the pen, and the notebook – like starting a new school term with all that lovely new stationery again! Great to see another writerly blog – will follow and see how you progress. Are you going the whole (degree) way?

    Debs,

Thank you for taking the time out to read and comment on the blog. It has been a bit of a whirlwind start and I am still trying to get to grips with things. I hope to get the degree at the end. Any feedback or advice would be gratefully accepted

It has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far Mr. S. What it did do was uncover my burning love for poetry that had struggled to emerge since childhood. But now I am here and loving and cherishing every second.
