‘The devil is in the detail’, Davy. Flames are the kisses which gradually devour the wax of the candle, revealing the devil at its core. And you are the agent of the devil’s exposure. Perhaps that was your role in the police? Am I way out?

Ha! So You have been doing more than just dancing with the devil? Very intriguing.

This makes me think of love relationships…the closer we get to someone the more our character flaws surface (the little devil inside). But flaws are still our covers or masks, for underneath it all we are only love. Very thought provoking poem!
