Because weed is ubiquitous in California, I’m wondering about “that” kind of weed. Or, perhaps it’s a metaphor for another strong force that had a negative effect. But whatever it is, I agree with wordsworthmuse. I sense its power over you, yet, you managed to get out from under it.
