Thank You

cropped-the-scream.jpg

Here we are, the last post of 2017 and there are so many thank yous and things I wanted to say that it all turned into a bit of a slushy mush; something which is unbecoming for a Marra (a polite term to describe a man from the West coast of Cumbria).

Instead I thought I would dedicate this poem to everyone who has supported (in any way shape or form)Β  Inside the Mind of Davy D throughout 2017.

Thank you, from every piece of me.

All the best for 2018 and I am looking forward to reading more of your great writing, thoughts and poetry.

When.

When dark clouds gather in front of the sun

(You blow them away.)

When the world’s sole beat is a one bang drum

(You find the music)

When the rhymes are lost on a snow-blind page

(Your light draws them out)

When thoughts in my head are scared of the stage.

(Your hands pull me through)

When each day your words leave me spellbound

(You leave me in awe)

When thank you is the kindest thing to be found.

(Thank you one and all)

Thank you , Davy. In a way , you have been an inspiration with your haiku verses. I am not good with these sentiment expressions but I sure I am glad to have you around. Damn comforting. You have a good year ahead.
Thank you for reading my work and your comments always make me smile.

Aww this is so lovely!
There would certainly be a rather large void in my blogging world without you in it.
A big big thank you in return!
Happy New Year!! πŸ₯‚

I hope in a happy way Carolyn. You know how us Northern men struggle with that emotion stuff lol. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for your excellent blog posts and writing. I always look forward to one of your posts appearing. Have a great 2018 and hope it brings you much happiness.

Lovely sentiment beautifully expressed, we of the North are regarded as men of few words and being somewhat emotionally repressed, I say you prove this to be inaccurate.
I look forward to another year inside the mind of DavyD, my best to you & yours Marra !

Thank you Nigel, I am breaking through the barriers slowly, but not going too deep. I’d be banned from Whitehaven. A big thank you to you Nigel for your wonderful poetry and the inspiration it provides. Reading your work is one of my daily highlights and you cured my fear of the sonnet. All the best to you and your family for 2018 and look forward to more poems from the Yorkshire Alchemist.

Your poem is so lovely and direct and from what you tell us, quite unsuitable for a Marra man.😊 . Which goes to prove that beneath the facade we all are warm and feeling human beings. Culture might try to suppress but the avalanche will break walls.

So please, continue to share your thoughts and verse. And someone told me once…a simple Thank You will do.
So , thank you back.

This was so you! Loved it! So inventive and clever! Really loved your – “Lost on a Snow Blind Page”. That happens to me but I haven’t seen you there, oh yeah. I was wearing white. Ha! You make WP a wonderful place!
Happy New Year to You and Mrs. D (aren’t the Mrs. the foundation of the world?)!!

Quality words from a quality wordsmith. Have an excellent New Year Mr Marra, spare a poetic thought for those of us at the metaphorical coalface, and I shall look forward to waxing lyrical with your good self come the new year.

Davy, I love your thank you poem! But it’s you who I owe my thanks to. I wouldn’t have even attempted writing poetry if I hadn’t discovered your blog. I hope to write more of them in the future. I just have my hands full at the moment. πŸ™‚

Laura it means a lot to me to know that I inspired you to write some poetry. There is poetry in all of us and it sometimes needs a little nudge to get it out. Have a great 2018 and I hope it brings you much happiness.
